What happens when the grumpiest gentleman in London meets four ghosts with impeccable timing?

Ebenezer Scrooge has perfected the art of frowning. He considers Christmas a nuisance, generosity a poor investment, and happiness a suspicious habit. But on Christmas Eve, he receives a series of unexpected visitors who are determined to prove that a cold heart is far more dangerous than a cold winter.

Journey through foggy Victorian London, where bustling merchants haggle, cheerful carolers sing, laughing children play, and one unforgettable family discovers that love
can flourish even when money is scarce. Along the way you’ll meet a ghost weighed down by chains of his own making, a giant who hides surprising treasures beneath his
robe, and a silent visitor who never says a word – yet speaks volumes.

Charles Dickens weaves comedy and conviction together with unforgettable characters, sparkling dialogue, and enough “Bah! Humbug!” to last until Twelfth Night. It is a tale of justice and mercy, folly and wisdom, and the glorious possibility that even the most determined curmudgeon may become the merriest man in London.

And here’s the best part: this story needs a whole city to tell it! Whether you long to haunt the stage as a ghost, bustle through the streets as a Victorian shopkeeper, sing as a festive caroler, feast with the Cratchits, or boldly declare, “God bless us, every one!” there is a role waiting for you.

So polish your top hat, practice your best British accent (though not required), and prepare to prove that all the world’s a stage – even Victorian London. Join the cast, and help bring one of the greatest Christmas stories ever written to life. Humbug is optional; enthusiasm is not.

Step into the world of whitewashed fences, hidden treasure, mysterious caves, and unforgettable adventures! In this course, students will journey alongside Tom Sawyer,
Mark Twain’s clever and spirited young hero, as he navigates the excitement and challenges of growing up along the Mississippi River in the fictional town of St. Petersburg, Missouri.

From clever schemes and daring escapades with his best friend Huckleberry Finn to witnessing a shocking crime and searching for buried treasure, Tom’s adventures are filled with humor, suspense, and heart. As students follow his story, they will discover that true courage, loyalty, honesty, and responsibility are often found in the most unexpected moments.

Using the classical approach to learning, students will practice attentive reading, thoughtful discussion, narration, and analytical writing while exploring Twain’s rich
language, memorable characters, and timeless themes. Along the way, they will uncover how a story full of fun and mischief also raises important questions about friendship, justice, conscience, and what it means to grow in wisdom and virtue.

Whether escaping to Jackson’s Island, exploring the dark passages of McDougal’s Cave, or unraveling the mystery of hidden gold, students will experience one of America’s
greatest coming-of-age stories while strengthening their reading, vocabulary, literary analysis, and composition skills. Prepare for a literary adventure that is as entertaining today as it was more than 150 years ago!

Have you ever wanted to make music with your own hands? Whether you dream of playing lively folk tunes, beautiful hymns, or the great masterpieces of Bach and Vivaldi,
this class is the perfect place to begin!

Using the joyful and encouraging Suzuki Method, students learn violin or viola through listening, imitation, games, movement, and plenty of making music together. Each lesson builds new skills – from holding the instrument and drawing your very first beautiful sound to reading music, playing melodies, and performing with confidence.

You’ll discover that learning an instrument is like learning a new language: every note, rhythm, and song opens the door to a lifetime of music. Along the way you’ll sharpen your listening skills, strengthen your focus, and experience the satisfaction of mastering something that once seemed impossible.

No musical experience is needed – just curiosity, a willingness to practice, and a sense of adventure! Bring a properly sized violin or viola, and get ready to play, learn, laugh, and make music with new friends.

PRIVATE GROUP LESSONS:
When you register for Private Lessons (11 weeks), you are automatically enrolled for the FREE 2 group lessons on October 28 and December 16 at 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM. It is expected that your child will be present for all Wednesdays once the student is registered. Excused absences are when the teacher is notified ahead of time in regard to illness or a family emergency. For excused absences, your lesson may be rescheduled.
It is strongly encouraged that Parents STAY for the 30 minute private lessons so s/h may learn too!

INSTRUMENT:
Each registered student is expected to bring their own instrument and music book to each lesson.
We have a collaborative program with White House of Music in West Bend.

However, if you wish to pick up everything yourself that is fine too. You can do this at White House of Music or another place to rent your instrument and purchase supplies is Brass Bell Music on Silver Spring in Whitefish Bay.

Give your child the opportunity to discover the language that has influenced English and the foundations of Western civilization. This fun and engaging summer course is designed for students in grades 6 – 8 who are new to Latin and want to experience one of the hallmarks of a classical education.

Through interactive activities, games, stories, and hands-on practice, students will learn basic Latin vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple grammar while making connections to English words they already know. Along the way, they will explore fascinating aspects of ancient Roman life, history, and culture, helping them see why Latin has been studied for centuries.

More than just learning a new language, students will strengthen their vocabulary, improve their understanding of grammar, and develop the careful thinking and attention to detail that support success across many subjects. By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize common Latin roots, read and translate simple words and phrases, and gain confidence in their ability to learn a classical language.

No prior Latin experience is needed – just curiosity and a willingness to explore! This course is a wonderful introduction for families considering a classical education or for students who simply want to experience something new this summer.

Latin I provides students with a strong foundation in vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and translation while opening the door to a deeper understanding of history, literature, science, and the Romance languages. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and consistent practice, students will develop confidence as they learn to read, translate, and appreciate simple Latin texts.

As a classical education program, this course goes beyond memorizing vocabulary. Students will strengthen their logical thinking, sharpen their understanding of English grammar, and gain valuable insight into the cultures and ideas that have influenced the world for centuries. Whether your student is new to Latin or eager to begin a classical language journey, this course provides a supportive and encouraging environment where every learner can thrive.

Meeting three days each week, our regular schedule allows students to build skills steadily through guided instruction, review, and meaningful practice. Frequent class meetings also foster accountability, community, and lasting friendships as students learn together.
