What will the teaching culture be at NCA?
At NorthShore Classical Academy, we believe that the most important educational decisions are best made by those closest to the classroom. Rather than relying on distant consultants or outside “experts,” NCA places its trust in experienced, well-trained teachers who know their students and their subjects deeply.
Our classrooms follow a teacher-led model, which encourages meaningful interaction between students and teachers through direct instruction, discussion, questioning, and mentorship. Teachers are recognized as experts in their disciplines, and their professional judgment, experience, and insights are valued and respected.
Faculty are supported by school leadership and parents alike, creating a strong partnership focused on student growth. NCA operates with a collaborative, team-based organizational structure, ensuring that teachers, administrators, and families work together in service of a shared educational mission.
Is NorthShore Classical Academy a religious school
While NorthShore Classical Academy is not a religious or faith-based school, we are deeply committed to the moral and civic ideals that shaped America’s founding. Our curriculum, developed in partnership with Hillsdale College, emphasizes virtue, character, and respect for the Judeo-Christian principles that informed the Founding Fathers’ vision.
As John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” At NorthShore, we take that to heart—instilling timeless values, cultivating personal responsibility, and helping students understand the moral foundations of a free society.
We welcome families of all faiths who value a school environment grounded in integrity, discipline, and respect for enduring truths. What is a Hillsdale College Curriculum School?

How does NorthShore Classical Academy ensure campus safety and security?
The safety of our students, faculty, and visitors is a top priority at NorthShore Classical Academy. We take a thoughtful, layered approach to campus security that emphasizes prevention, preparedness, and clear communication.
Secure Campus Access
Our campus operates with a single, controlled point of entry. Visitors may enter only with permission, and staff access the building using secure keypad or card-reader systems. Outside of designated drop-off and pick-up times, the main entrance remains locked, and all other exterior doors are secured at all times.
Visitor Procedures
All visitors, including parents, are required to sign in at the school office during school office hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Visitors must present a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and will be issued a visitor badge, which must be worn visibly while on campus.
Emergency Preparedness
NCA has clearly defined procedures for responding to emergencies, including medical situations, severe weather, and security concerns. Faculty and staff are trained in these protocols, and regular drills are conducted to ensure readiness and calm, effective responses.
Community Safety Partnerships
We maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement and relevant safety organizations. These partnerships help us stay informed of best practices and continually strengthen our security planning.
Faculty and Staff Training
All faculty and staff receive ongoing training in safety procedures, emergency response, and child protection. This training equips our team to act confidently and responsibly while fostering a secure and supportive learning environment.
Clear Communication
We are committed to open and transparent communication with parents and guardians. Safety updates, reminders, and relevant information are shared regularly so families remain informed and confident in the care of their students.
